Night sailing a route out of addiction

Night sailing involves different awareness and needs different planning and preparation, information, support and encouragement. An understanding of what the journey involves, what the outcome will be and ways to check progress, this is a step by step process, not unlike recovery from addictions, abuse, trauma, other emotional difficulties depression, anxiety.

The Night Sail is a therapeutic exercise designed to expand and strengthen the integrating Adult which we understand to be arrested when a person is traumatised and/or using alcohol & drugs The metaphor is a useful way of condensing and communicating complex ideas. Sailing is understood here as a metaphor that is steeped in useful wisdom that is easily transferrable to recovery from addiction and to life general.
