SAILADAY OK has proved extremely successful for people recovering from a variety of addictions, trauma and abuse. Residential sessions of between three and five days take place aboard a cruising yacht in South West Cornwall (nearest port Falmouth). Facilitated by an experienced therapist and professional skipper. Sailaday Ok provides for 50/60 beneficiaries yearly for the last 9 years. Proved a unique model of working that promotes personal change through practicle experience, an important outcome is that those that have the Sailaday Ok experience are most likely to complete their treatment programme.
This is a remarkable and inspiring story as Richard suffered 25 years of multiple drugs and alcohol abuse and drew on his experiences of recovery to create this unique and successful charity.   Richard had made hugely positive contributions to the lives of many people as well as enhancing the knowledge of  Eco/Adventure therapy to the international community.
Richard says "I feel honoured to receive this recognition of my work with Sailaday OK and grateful for the nomination and support of our brilliant team".  "I trust that this achievement will give hope and inspiration to all others who have also suffered/suffer from addictions, abuse and trauma". "I am pleased that Sailaday Ok is also getting this exposure and this will help us in the development of the marine adventure therapy charity and our search for a Patron and bigger boat"
There were cream teas supplied by the very supportive Eco Park team, and music by Steve Slimm .
